Gerry Gonnella
Midfielder
Industrious, ball playing midfielder Gerry Gonnella rejoined Dulwich Hamlet in March 2010, having originally made his debut away to Folkestone Invicta in the opening game of the current season. He made a total of 9 appearances (3 from the substitutes' bench), scoring twice before moving to Ryman Division One South rivals, Met Police. However his appearances there were limited to just three as sub and he soon moved across Surrey to Colston Avenue, home of Carshalton Athletic where he established himself as a key squad member under Francis Vines. However with Vines departure from the Robins' hot seat in February, Gerry found himself frozen out and Gavin Rose took the opportunity to snap up the skilful midfielder to bolster his team.
Having been a trainee with both Millwall and Charlton Athletic, Gerry's promising career hit the buffers when a broken ankle kept him out of the game for the best part of a year. He joined the ASPIRE Academy run by current Dulwich manager, Gavin Rose, and his number two, Junior Kadi, rebuilding his career and playing a key role when the Academy, then flying the flag of now defunct Fisher Athletic, enjoyed a good run in the FA Youth Cup.
