Carshalton took the lead after 25 minutes when Tom Bird curled home a 25-yard free kick before Kevin James thumped home a free kick of his own 10 minutes later, past the unsighted Darren Behcet between the sticks, putting the Hamlet level.
Behcet then made a rather good save to deny Dulwich a second not long after with former Dulwich youngster Justyn Roberts bravely blocking the follow-up.
Behcet saved a 53rd minute penalty however he was powerless to stop a Lewis Gonsalves planting a thumping header from a corner past him soon after.
Carshalton levelled things with 20 minutes left on the clock when Harry Harding glanced home a Paul Vines header from inside the six-yard box.
The game was settled in the last ten minutes when midfielder Darren Bryan side-footed home from 12 yards following good work down the left by Sean O'Toole and Ashley Carew.
