Back on 12th February, we lost 1-2 at home to WALTON CASUALS, our first defeat in eight games. The first-half was rather scrappy. Early on, we missed some decent chances and Casuals 'keeper James Warrington made a couple of good saves. But it was our opponents who scored first, in the 25th minute, when a succession of defensive errors led to Craig Totton netting from close range. We trailed by this goal at half-time. After the interval, we displayed more urgency and enjoyed our best spell of the game. We equalised in the 49th minute when a cross from Dean Carpenter on the left was neatly laid back by Kevin James for Gerry Gonnella to rifle home from 18 yards. Shortly afterwards, Nyren Clunis unleashed a fierce drive which cannoned against the foot of the post with the 'keeper well beaten. It was all Dulwich at this point and Warrington denied Gerry Gonnella and Rob Gradwell with excellent saves. Unfortunately, we became over-ambitious in our attempts to take the lead and in the 65th minute Casuals caught us on the break. The impressive Michael Barima set up Liam Wright on the left and the latter lifted the ball over James Dunn and into the net to put Casuals back in front. This proved to be the winning goal as we never seriously threatened again. To make matters worse, we finished the game with ten men when Ray Powell picked up a second yellow card in the closing minutes.
