Last Saturday, we made the long trip to play BOGNOR REGIS TOWN, who ran out comfortable 2-0 winners. This ended our run of victories in the league and has seen us drop back to seventh in the table. Bognor had the better of the early exchanges but we defended solidly and held them at bay. They eventually opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and, ironically, it arrived immediately after we had squandered a golden opportunity at the other end. A mistake by home defender Tim Bond let In Justin Bowen who, unfortunately, shot straight at 'keeper Craig Stoner. To make matters worse, Stoner promptly cleared the ball upfield and Jason Prior's cross from the right ran to Ben Johnson who hammered an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 12 yards. Bognor now had their tails up and seven minutes later they doubled their lead when Michael Birmingham sent James Dunn the wrong way from the penalty-spot after Francis Duku had tripped Prior.

We came more into the game in the second half, but seldom threatened to score. Early in the half, we almost conceded a third goal when David Moore cleared off the line after our 'keeper was beaten by Dean Maynard's low cross. We had a couple of decent chances, but failed to take them. On 55 minutes a good cross from Kevin James to the back post found Justin Bowen, but his glancing header went wide, then five minutes from time Kevin himself got clear in the inside-right channel and was about to shoot when Boyd made a marvellous saving tackle.
